Find help with camera controls, capture, and setup, or contact the developer below. The current app requires iOS 26 or later; available camera features depend on your iPhone.

Camera Controls

Tap Flash, Zoom, Focus, or Brightness on the camera screen to open its adjustment panel. Tap outside the panel to close it. Touch and hold a control for its shortcut menu.

• Focus: Use the slider for manual focus. Turn Auto on for continuous autofocus; the slider shows the current focus but cannot be adjusted manually while Auto is active. Default turns Auto off and restores the starting focus.
• Zoom: Use the slider or pinch the camera preview. Default restores the starting zoom.
• Flash: Adjust the continuous torch with the slider or intensity shortcuts. The On/Off action toggles the light. This control is only available when the selected camera supports a torch.
• Brightness: Adjust exposure before capturing. Default restores the starting brightness.

Photo and Video Capture

Use the Photo/Video button on the camera screen to change modes, or touch and hold it to choose a mode from its menu. In Photo mode, tap the shutter to take a photo. In Video mode, tap it once to start recording and again to stop.

On an iPhone with Camera Control, pressing that hardware button while Macro Lens is open performs the same capture action. Video targets 60 fps when supported by the camera configuration.

Captured photos and videos are saved to your photo library when permission is granted. The camera screen stays awake while the app is active.

Photo Viewfinder

Open Settings and enable Photo Viewfinder in the Camera section. It is off by default and adds a full-camera overview with a framing guide in Photo mode. Drag the overview to either upper corner; the app remembers your chosen side.

With Photo Viewfinder enabled, the camera applies zoom when you take the photo, which may add a short delay. Video is unaffected. Turn it off in Settings to return to the standard photo preview.

Lock Screen and Control Center

Add the Macro Lens control when customizing your Lock Screen or Control Center. It opens the app's camera; unlocking your iPhone may be required. This is a launcher, not a separate camera that takes pictures while your phone remains locked.

Permissions and Privacy

• Camera: Required to preview and capture photos and video.
• Photo Library: Required to add captured photos and videos to Photos.
• Location: Optional. If granted, location is attached to saved photos and videos. You can continue capturing without it.

If permission was denied, open the iPhone Settings app, select Apps, then Macro Lens, and review its permissions.

No account is required. The app uses Firebase for usage analytics, crash reports, performance diagnostics, and submitted feature requests. See the Privacy Policy for the data involved.

Contact the Developer

In the app, open Settings, then the Contact section. Choose Request a feature to submit an idea, or Send an e-mail for support. You can also write to contact@macrolens.camera.

Feature requests need a title of at least 5 characters and details of at least 20 characters. An e-mail address is optional. Requests can be sent once every 10 minutes and include app and device information to help us understand your feedback.

Reporting a Bug

If you encounter a bug or technical issue, please provide the following information in your report:

• Your device model and operating system version
• The app version and, if available, its build number
• A description of the issue
• Steps to reproduce, including Photo or Video mode and whether Photo Viewfinder or Auto focus was enabled
• Whether it happens every time, plus screenshots or a screen recording if useful
