Macro Lens

Introduction

This policy describes the information handled by Macro Lens, including camera capture, optional location metadata, diagnostics, and feature requests. No user account or login is required.

Photos, Videos, and Location

Camera images are processed on your device. Captured photos and videos are saved to your photo library, and recorded video files are also stored in the app's local storage. Macro Lens does not upload captured media to the developer's Firebase backend as part of capture.

If you grant location access, the app can attach your location to saved photos and videos. That metadata can accompany media you share. Your device's Photos and cloud-sync settings determine whether Apple or other services also store your media.

Usage Analytics and Diagnostics

Macro Lens integrates Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Performance Monitoring to understand feature usage and diagnose crashes and performance problems.

Usage events include screen visits, camera settings, capture actions, permission status, and support actions. Diagnostic services may process app and operating system versions, device information, installation or app-instance identifiers, crash traces, and performance measurements. Firebase services may also process IP addresses. This information should not be described as entirely anonymous.

Capture analytics record whether location permission is enabled, not your precise location coordinates. Learn more in Firebase's privacy documentation and Google Analytics' data collection documentation.

Feature Requests and Support

When you submit a feature request in the app, its title, details, optional e-mail address, submission time, app version, build number, iOS version, and device type are sent to Cloud Firestore. We use these details to review feedback and, when you provide contact information, follow up.

If you contact us by e-mail, we receive your address and anything you include in your message. Avoid including sensitive information that is not needed to describe your request.

Permissions

Camera and Photo Library access are required for the capture workflow. Location access is optional:

• Camera: To show the preview and capture photos and videos.
• Photo Library: To add captured photos and videos to your device's photo library.
• Location: To attach location metadata to saved photos and videos when you grant access.

You can review or revoke these permissions in the iPhone Settings app. Revoking a permission does not remove metadata from media already saved.

Service Providers and Data Requests

Google/Firebase processes feature requests and analytics or diagnostic information through the services described above. See Google's Privacy Policy for additional information about Google's practices.

Deleting Macro Lens from your device does not automatically delete a feature request already sent to us. To ask about access to or deletion of information you submitted, contact contact@macrolens.camera and include enough detail to identify the request.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The latest policy and its revision date will be available on this page.
